Appretiare offers basic fine art restoration services for frames and artwork, including gentle surface cleaning, minor tear and edge repairs, stretcher adjustments, and cosmetic inpainting for small losses. While we’re not a certified conservator, I take a careful, reversible-minded approach and will always recommend and coordinate with a professional conservator for high-value, fragile, or historically significant pieces. I provide consultations, transparent estimates, and clear guidance on when specialized conservation is necessary.
Limits to Protect Your Pieces
We will not treat works with active or extensive mold or biological contamination, severe water damage, major structural failures (such as broken or separated stretcher bars, severely torn or delaminated canvases), complex paint layer instability, heavy or pervasive surface soiling that requires advanced solvents, or fragile/antique papers and works on paper that demand specialized conservation techniques.
For any item outside our scope we will provide a condition assessment and recommend or coordinate with a certified conservator or restoration specialist, and I will always document the condition and advise on safe handling and transport to ensure the piece receives appropriate professional care.
